Track camera – In the game

„Track camera … or, Bison Return Home.”
(The video image is not … a 2D image.)

A post in which I combined image tracking with the first home match of the Puszcza Niepołomice team in Poland’s top-tier league.

!!! Warning. This post contains elements of optical illusion and artificial intelligence capabilities. The educational content included here is solely intended to showcase the ability to modify graphics in a real-world environment (with a slight satirical touch). !!!

In this post, I will present the ability to track key points that digitally reflect an exact position in a three-dimensional system. This skill allows the enhancement of the base material with additional 2D or 3D elements or other video footage. For the first time, I will describe the capabilities of artificial intelligence in graphics. An additional element of the post is a local sports celebration—the battle on the football fields, this time on home turf, as well as presenting the Niepołomice anthem in a new version, created in collaboration with AI.

The post was created using software such as Adobe Illustrator (Ai), Adobe After Effects (Ae), Adobe Premiere Pro (Pr), Adobe Photoshop (Ps), and Adobe Media Encoder (Ame), along with the capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI) engines such as ChatGPT (GPT), Midjourney (Mid), and Suno.

Below are a few words about how this work was created, consisting of a 2-minute clip featuring short inserts from randomly selected locations in the city of Niepołomice and a modification of the existing anthem of the city.

  1. The post consists of 15 short clips, creating a 2-minute 4K (3840x2160f50) video. The footage was recorded with Osmo Pocket 3 and initially trimmed in Pr.
  2. All wall and ground graphics are fictional; in reality, the walls are clean. They were applied using Ae’s track camera function. Key points with three coordinates were generated, allowing for the placement of 2D graphics (static images or video clips). These points track the image dynamically.
  3. I used about 30 graphics in this project. These are a combination of images of team players, cut out from the background and converted into only four shades of gray, as well as Photoshop drawings (handmade graphics using a tablet, mimicking handwritten lines). The graphics were exported as transparent PNG files.
  4. The graphics are randomly created and do not carry a deeper meaning. Some inserts are blended into the base material—usually a wall—with varying degrees of intensity.
  5. Some graphics include animation elements, allowing for shape changes over time in Ae.
  6. In two instances, the track motion feature in Ae was used. This technique embeds a video onto a standing banner, which adapts to the camera movement by tracking designated boundaries.
  7. The video footage references the previous Motor Lublin vs. Puszcza Niepołomice match, which ended in a 0-0 draw. The post’s theme relates to the rematch against the same team.
  8. The rotating team logo was created by combining 2D graphics and video in Ps and Ae. The rotation effect was achieved using Ae’s basic functions, with acceleration and motion smoothing.
  9. Transitions and voice inserts were sourced from AEJuice.
  10. The background music is based on the Niepołomice city anthem. The lyrics by Mieczysław Czuma were translated into English using ChatGPT and then used in Suno in pop, rock, and upbeat styles, excluding piano. The original music by Jan Wojdak was completely muted. A link to the original anthem and lyrics is provided below. The translated lyrics are attached in a vector PDF format, along with an MP3 file of the modified track, available via Google Drive.
  11. The entire project was exported to the Vimeo platform, allowing the video to adjust its quality dynamically based on the viewer’s device and internet connection. Vimeo-hosted materials will be used on a newly created company website (not yet indexed).
  12. The attached PDF file on Google Drive uses the title font from the previous post (a font made of hearts). More fonts will be created using FontForge based on brushwork in Ai and/or Ps.

The ability to track images in video footage opens up endless possibilities for placing selected 2D, 3D, or video elements. Each of these elements can also be animated. Additionally, by leveraging artificial intelligence, we not only speed up the workflow but also create highly realistic or strikingly expressive works. The key to effectively using this technology lies in precisely crafted prompts—text commands that extract the desired effects.

Artificial intelligence technology will appear in future posts, where the advanced capabilities of ChatGPT and Midjourney will be explored in more detail.

I invite you to visit the wonderful, 14th-century town of Niepołomice and support the local team!

The selected graphics showcase my ability to alter and enhance the visual appearance of people, objects, or landscapes while maintaining the original base. The final effect is subjective and represents a specific timeframe. Each of us perceives things differently and has different time constraints and skill levels. Regularly published posts featuring thematic projects aim to systematically gather materials illustrating graphic capabilities.
